Apple‘s new iOS 17 update brings a range of useful features to the iPhone. For starters, the Phone app lets you create personalized Contact Posters for incoming calls and also adds Live Voicemail that shows text transcriptions as messages come in. The Messages app has been updated with a unified Stickers app and offers new ways to let people know when you’ve reached a location safely. You can also see audio message transcriptions for easier reference later.

In FaceTime, if someone misses your call, you can now leave video or audio messages. There are also new 3D effects to make your video calls more engaging. When your iPhone is charging on its side, a new StandBy feature displays important info like the time and widgets, customized to where your phone is placed.
The update also introduces more interactive widgets for iPhone and Mac, along with an improved AirDrop feature called NameDrop for easier contact sharing. The keyboard is smarter, with better autocorrect and text prediction, and Safari lets you set up profiles to separate your work and personal browsing. You can also share passwords safely through its enhanced privacy settings.
Apple Music adds a SharePlay feature for shared listening experiences and a crossfade feature for smoother transitions between songs. AirPlay prioritizes your most-used devices, and AirPods get new features like adaptive audio settings and Conversation Awareness, which helps you focus on people talking to you.
Other updates include offline map capabilities and electric vehicle routing in the Maps app. Siri now understands more natural language requests. The Health app includes a new State of Mind feature to help track your emotional well-being. The update also brings other improvements in accessibility and privacy settings.
